And the total cost of this project was estimated at 21 thousand 985 crores. But later it was increased to 33 thousand 472 crores. The present number of stations of this metro rail is 9 but its planned number of stations is 112.
Its head office is located in Dhaka. The management company of Dhaka Metro Rail is Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the first phase of MRT-6 of Dhaka Metrorail on 28th December 2022 in a grand atmosphere and fulfilled the cherished dream of the people of Dhaka. And from 29th December it was opened to public. As a result of the construction of Dhaka Metrorail, on the one hand, the extreme suffering of the people of Dhaka will be reduced in terms of communication , and on the other hand, the economy of Bangladesh will develop greatly. In fact , Dhaka Metrorail like Padma Bridge will go a long way in reducing the suffering of the people of Bangladesh in terms of travel and communication.
