Drawing the flag of El Salvador is a simple process if you follow these steps:
Necessary materials:
Paper
Pencil
Ruler
Draft
Markers or colored pencils (blue, white and optionally the colors of the shield)
Steps to draw the flag:
Draw the flag rectangle:
Use the ruler to draw a horizontal rectangle on your paper. Typical proportions of the flag of El Salvador are 3:5 (for example, 15 cm high by 25 cm wide).
Divide the rectangle into three horizontal stripes:
Using the ruler, divide the rectangle into three equal horizontal sections. Each strip must be the same height. Lightly mark the dividing lines with the pencil.
Color the stripes:
Color the top strip blue.
Color the bottom strip blue.
Leave the middle stripe white.
Draw the shield on the white stripe (optional):
The coat of arms of El Salvador is complex, but you can try to draw it in a simplified way:
Draw an equilateral triangle in the center of the white stripe.
Inside the triangle, draw five volcanoes, with the ocean at the base.
Above the volcanoes, draw a radiant Phrygian cap (similar to a hat) with rays of light around it.
Surround the triangle with two laurel branches, forming a semicircle from the base of the triangle.
Add a scroll to the bottom of the triangle that says "REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR IN CENTRAL AMERICA."
Above the triangle, draw a blue circle with the words "DIOS UNION LIBERTAD" in gold and five small miniature El Salvador flags around it.
Shield simplification:
If the complete shield is too difficult, you can simplify it by drawing only the triangle with the volcanoes and the Phrygian cap, omitting smaller details.
